Minister: Rev. Kevin Cravens-Koch
Rev. Kevin Cravens-Koch is a native of Northern Kentucky. As a member of Independence Christian Church from birth, he was involved in church activities in various capacities growing up and even taking on leadership roles at the district and regional levels. While his home church greatly influenced his faith, being active in the outdoor ministries at Camp Wakon Da Ho has undoubtedly made a lasting impact as well. It was there that he began to really feel a call to ministry, and it was there where he first had the opportunity to explore his gifts for ministry.
After graduating from Simon Kenton High School, he moved to Lexington to attend Transylvania University where he received a BA in Religion with a minor in psychology.
Rev. Cravens-Koch received his Master of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and was ordained on May 31, 2014. His call to ministry continues to be reaffirmed by his desire to help others, to help integrate young people into the life of the church, and to help the church on its mission to live in the ways of Jesus.
Kevin has served at Burgin Christian Church in Burgin, Kentucky as well as at Beargrass Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky in internship capacities throughout college and seminary. He served as Minister of Families and Faith Formation at First Christian Church in Georgetown, Kentucky and as Co-Pastor at National Avenue Christian Church in Springfield, Missouri.
Kevin and his husband, Ryan, have 3 dogs that bring them great joy: Bailey, Rey, and Lexi. When he can’t be found at church or home, he’s likely at Chipotle, the gym, or wandering aimlessly around Target. Kevin and Ryan are incredibly close to their families, which is what has led them back to Kentucky, and they are very much looking forward to starting this new journey together, and excited about the possibilities that await at Erlanger Christian Church.
